Sun Blasted Kit

$100.00

Grower’s Choice Sun Blasted Kit

If you are looking at this website, it is assumed that you understand that climate change is real. Models created by the University of Minnesota Scientist show that Minnesota will become hotter in winter and in summer. We will receive less snow in winter and more precipitation in spring. By contrast July, August and September will become drier and hotter. These are the dog days of summer and while you may have air conditioning, your garden does not. Plan for climate change by planting sun-loving, drought adapted native species like grama grass, purple love grass, prairie onion, milkweed, euphorbia, stiff goldenrod and yarrow. The plants in this kit will pull up a lawn chair with a lemonade on a 99-degree day to watch traffic roll by under a full blast sun.

This kit requires Full Sun conditions with Dry moisture conditions.

Recommended for 30 - 50 sq. ft.

https://www.house.mn.gov/comm/docs/O0y6cR86hkSPAgq2xCBnzA.pdf

Grower's Choice Garden Kits include:

32x 2.5" POWER PLUGS

With 4-8x different species depending on your kit selection.

All kits come with 30-50% graminoids (grasses, sedges or rushes). Why? It’s not just filler. Graminoids serve many functions including creating habitat and food for wildlife, building healthy soil structures, holding up top heavy forbs and acting as negative space for the human eye to rest in garden designs.

PRICE: $100

More Info About Grower’s Choice Kits:

If you are new to native plants, overwhelmed by choice or looking to achieve a specific goal with your landscaping, our Grower's Choice Kits are a great option! We have a kit for many nearly any native landscaping scenario.

There's only one hitch…we pick the plants. Just like chef's choice in a restaurant you ask the expert to curate the best selection for you. The plants in your kit will be based on current inventory, prioritizing a multi-season bloom range with a variety of leaf textures and complementary flower colors.

Worried about design layout? Don’t be! We’ll label the plants in three categories: Matrix, Seasonal Interest and Structural. Start by arranging the structural plants 36-48” apart and then fill in the gaps with the matrix and the seasonal interest selections planting them 12-18” on center. If you need more advice or information, bring pictures of your site when you come to pick up the plants or email us and we’d be happy to offer layout recommendations.

We also offer custom design services for hire—inquire via Email: preston@northernholler.com

You can stack different Grower's Choice Kits for maximum savings and LOTS OF FUN!
